New Moon Goddess Group

It’s happening!  Saturday, March 1, 2025  will be the first meeting of the New Moon Goddesses series!!. 

I have talked about starting a group for so long I just couldn’t figure out the ins and outs and my need for perfection blinded me from seeing I have all I need to get this thing going. I know from all the women I talk to in my Reiki Practice that we are in dire need of a community, especially now as we watch our rights and dignity being stripped from us on the political stage. I  initially wanted to have a unisex group and would still like to have some gatherings for like minded folks but for now I think the need for a women's collective is most important. Last year I created a Goddess a Month series that included wooden laser printed discs of the goddesses from Greek, Celtic, Norse, and Roman panthons. The idea was to work with one each month; research their mythologies, find ways to incorporate their fierceness and wisdom into daily life, and work with their shadow side, and believe me they ALL have a shadow side, some more than others. 

The 12 Goddesses included:

Aphrodite- Greek- Goddess of Love, beauty and desire

Artemis-  Greek- The Wild Huntress and Lunar Goddess, protector of women, children and animals

Athena- Greek- Goddess of War, wisdom, strategy, and crafts. 

Fortuna- Roman- Goddess of Fate, luck and fortune

Frigg- Norse- Goddess of feminine wisdom, foresight, quiet power, and resilience

Hecate- Greek- Goddess of Witchcraft, the first witch, ghosts, crossroads, the moon, and the underworld

Hel- Norse- Goddess of Helheim, deaths inevitability, balance, justice, and hidden wisdom

Hera- Greek- Queen of the Gods, protector of married women and childbirth

Hestia- Greek- Goddess of the Hearth, home and family

Nyx- Greek- Goddess of the Night, shadow work, feminine power, dream magic, and introspection

Persephone- Greek- Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld, death and rebirth

The Morrigan- Celtic- Triple Goddess of War, Fate and Death. Associated with sovereignty and prophecy

I prefer to work with the New Moon energy over the full moon because it initiates new beginnings and sets intentions for the coming moon cycle. That being said, each meeting will be on the Saturday closest to the New Moon. The next new moon is February 27th which is a Thursday (and my birthday!) so we will meet Saturday, March 1st at 7pm in my Reiki Office. It’s going to be tight! But, with moving furniture around we can fit a group of 10. 

Anyone who identifies as a woman is invited, feel free to bring your teenage daughters but no one younger than 15. Seats are limited due to space constraints at the moment , you will be put on a waitlist once the first 13 seats are filled. There is no charge and you are not obligated to attend each one but if you continue to miss events your spot will be given up until we find a space big enough for everyone who wants to attend. Lets build a community of women who prop each other up, share wisdom, and create a much needed connection in this time of uncertainty.
